If you’ve already had some experience writing for theatre and want to develop some new ideas with a chance to work on rewrites and have your work explored later in the year by a director and actors, this is the one for you.
And as a special extra, we’ll have a look at creating work from verbatim/participants’ lived experience.
To be considered, please send a sample of your writing [5 – 10 pages]. Plus a 300-word synopsis of the idea you want to work on. Email to: info@redladder.co.uk with the subject line “Intermediate Writing Course Submission”. We will get back to you within one week of the deadline to let you know if you have a place.
That deadline is: 19th January, 5pm. You will hear from us by 26th January.
5th February – Session 1 – 6:30pm – 9:00pm
12th February – Session 2 – 6:30pm – 9:00pm
19th February – Session 3 – 6:30pm – 9:00pm
26th February – Session 4 – 6:30pm – 9:00pm
5th March – Session 5 – 6:30pm – 9:00pm
You will have until 26th March to make rewrites and submit your script for the sharing.
Full day of directors and actors at Leeds conservatoire. Not compulsory for writers to attend but you’re very welcome as part of your process.

Sharing at Leeds Conservatoire.
17th May between 10am & 4:30pm
Your writing will be explored later in the year by a director and actors, for a public sharing.
Did we mention our courses are free? All you have to do is give a £10 deposit, which we return when you come to your first session. If you want to participate but this is a barrier to you attending, please drop us a line.
This course is open to anyone 18+ living in the North of England. If you’re not in the region but you wish to attend do email us info@redladder.co.uk and we will add you to the waitlist.
